the early stages of the bahay kubo…

we hit up the VIP opening of the “tabi tabi po” show @ 1:AM gallery. as soon as we got there, we saw these erin, alex and james outside taking a break. hehe, they just got done setting up the show an hour or so before. they killed it!

the bahay kubo is finally complete. it looks beautiful, the woodburned baybayin is an awesome touch.

little details fill the bahay kubo and the documentary filmed for the gallery is on loop on a small TV. you can have a seat on some mats and watch a movie if you like!

here’s one of the many great pieces in the show. its a “pugot” sculpture i believe?

good amount of people were at the gallery for a small VIP opening.

finally seeing the murals finished and the pieces hung was awesome. so much great work and so many different styles. i cant wait to see the reaction of folks at the public opening. gem, cece and chris did some killer paint work to the place.

the shanty turned out great! chris added the painted details and just killed it. his shanty mural next to it is just as awesome…

especially cause he added a spam sign!!! hahaha, he rocks!

there’s so much amazing work hanging at the show, you have to come check it out tonight to see all the goodness. its pretty inspiring and eclectic. so great to see a subject explored and taken in so many different beautiful ways.

roman and chris killed it when they added this manananggal to the wall outside.

the show and james were blessed and james gave a nice opening night speech. thanks to james for including me in the show and thanks to dan, anna and roman for being such great galley hosts. hope to see you at the gallery tonight.
